The Engine and the District: Contango Silver & Gold's Two-Country Hunt

In March 2026 a merger of equals joined Contango's producing Alaska gold mine to Dolly Varden's high-grade silver district in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, and the combined company took a new name: Contango Silver & Gold. The Alaska engine already pays — US$160 million returned against a US$105 million investment — while the British Columbia district grows: a September 2026 estimate of 89.5 million indicated silver-equivalent ounces at Kitsault Valley, with all 56,492 metres of 2026 drilling still to be counted. Two more Alaska projects, Johnson Tract and Lucky Shot, wait in line behind them.

The Treasure in the Bradshaws: Kilroy Metal and the Crown King Road Project

In Arizona's Bradshaw Mountains, two past-producing mines — Blue Bell and DeSoto — anchor a 3,636-acre copper-zinc-gold-silver VMS district that has barely been touched by a drill. Kilroy Metal's founders built the land package on 45 years of a VMS expert's data, and they are taking the company public to drill the 97 percent nobody has tested.

Two Deposits, One Plan: Renforth Resources and the Malartic Pair

Renforth Resources owns two deposits outright in the shadow of Canada's largest open-pit gold mine: Parbec, a 362,800-ounce gold deposit on the Cadillac Break, and Victoria, a 125-million-tonne nickel polymetallic deposit defined over barely an eighth of its 20-kilometre structure. The strategy is sequential and self-funding: monetize the gold to develop the critical metals. Gold first. Critical metals next.

Next Door to America's Only Platinum Mines: Stillwater Critical Minerals and the Stillwater West Project

Stillwater Critical Minerals owns, outright, the basal sulphide system of Montana's Stillwater Complex — the same layered intrusion that hosts the only primary platinum-group metal mines in the United States. In August 2026 the measured treasure more than doubled: 805 million tonnes inferred plus a first indicated resource, carrying 4.8 billion pounds of nickel, copper and cobalt and 7.4 million ounces of platinum, palladium, gold and rhodium. Glencore holds 15%. The hunt now turns to metallurgy, then economics.

The Mountain Anaconda Left Unfinished: Thunder Mountain Gold and the South Mountain Polymetallic

Thunder Mountain Gold is a Boise company incorporated in 1935 and named for a played-out gold rush in Valley County — but its treasure sits 250 miles south: South Mountain in Owyhee County, a zinc-silver-gold-copper system discovered in 1868, mined by Anaconda's smelting arm through the Second World War and measured in 2023 at 223,000 tons of high-grade measured and indicated resource. In 2026 the drills turned again — new carbonate-replacement mineralization at Kentucky Ridge, two porphyry centers confirmed — while a Swiss partner's small-scale production framework sketches a path to ore that skips the equity markets.

The Sleeping Giant Above Boise: Andrew Brodkey and the CuMo Rework

AMAX found one of the great molybdenum systems on earth in Idaho's Boise Basin in 1963 — and walked away. Sixty years on, Andrew Brodkey has re-engineered the CuMo project around ore sorting and a smaller first plant, and the October 2026 PEA prints a US$1.88 billion after-tax NPV, a 46-year mine life, and copper at a negative cash cost. The drills have their Forest Service approval. Now comes the prefeasibility.

The Mine That Pays: Kuya Silver and the Bethania Engine

Kuya Silver was built backwards: a producing silver mine first, the exploration dreams second. Bethania in Peru — permitted, producing, and selling concentrate — bankrolls the hunt in two of the richest silver camps on earth: Cobalt, Ontario, where Kuya has already cut 15,372 g/t silver, and Umm Hadid in Saudi Arabia.

The Plant That Prints: Aguila Norte and Jeffrey Reeder's Thirty-Year Peruvian Game

A Treasure Hunter Chronicle: in northern Peru, a geologist who has worked the country since 1994 built one of its few fully permitted toll mills — a plant that has run at capacity for years on other miners' ore — and is now feeding it his own high-grade gold-silver ground, bought from the last company he ran.

The Mountain That Kept Its Silver: The Haldane Discovery

A Treasure Hunter Chronicle: on a Yukon mountain where prospectors hand-sorted bonanza silver in 1919 and then walked away for a century, Silver North has made three Keno-style discoveries in seven seasons — and its biggest drill program yet just cut 1,669 g/t silver at the Main Fault.
