The History
During World War II, the remote Stibnite district near Yellow Pine supplied as much as 90 percent of America’s antimony and roughly half of its tungsten. Metals from one Idaho valley went into the ammunition, armor, and hardened steel that helped win the war. Perpetua Resources is now working to reopen the district as the country’s only domestic primary source of antimony, recovered alongside gold, with strong federal interest behind it.
