The History
Near Winnemucca, Hycroft Mining works one of the largest gold and silver resources in the country. This leg also carries the battery story: Albemarle’s Silver Peak in Clayton Valley is the only producing lithium operation in the United States, Lithium Americas’ Thacker Pass is under construction on one of the largest known lithium resources in the country, and east of Reno the Gigafactory turns those battery metals into packs and vehicles, the clearest mine-to-product line on the whole tour.
