Uranium in-situ recovery, trona, coal, bentonite, rare-earth development, and exploration dominate the modern landscape. Direct producing exposure to gold, silver, or copper remains much narrower than in neighboring states.

Uranium can become reactor fuel after conversion, enrichment, and fabrication. Trona becomes soda ash for glass, detergents, and chemicals.
