Lodestar Hits First High-Grade Gold at Gomes, Nevada's Gold Run Project

Geophysics just earned its keep in northern Nevada. On October 6, Lodestar Metals Corp. (TSXV: LSTR | OTCQB: SVTNF) reported assays from two additional reverse-circulation holes in its maiden 2,680-metre drill program at the Gold Run Project, including the first high-grade gold-silver intercept at the Gomes Prospect.

At a glance
  • Hole LSRC08 returned 4.57 m of 4.00 g/t gold and 15.6 g/t silver from 135.64 m, including 1.52 m at 11.30 g/t gold and 30.4 g/t silver; reported intervals are drill-hole lengths, with true widths estimated at 85–95%.
  • The intercept was generated by targeting an IP chargeability anomaly — supporting the company's view that chargeability can locate structurally controlled, higher-grade mineralization at Gold Run.
  • Mapping, magnetics, and IP indicate prospective northwest-trending structures extending at least one kilometre, open along strike and up- and down-dip; the strongest part of the IP anomaly, east of current drilling, remains untested.
  • Rock sampling north of Gomes returned 2.8 g/t gold, 7.5 g/t silver, 14.7% copper, and 0.45% zinc from weathered sulphide-bearing material.
  • Assays are pending from 10 additional RC holes (1,214 m) at the Black Diamond and Crown North targets.

Why Gomes matters

Gold Run's story so far has centered on Robbers Knob. Gomes is the second prospect to deliver high-grade gold, and it did so because a geophysical anomaly said to drill there — the kind of result that turns a single-target project into a district play with a repeatable targeting method. Several untested chargeability anomalies remain across the property, and Gomes is now a priority for follow-up drilling.

One caveat, kept visible

This is a maiden program: two holes and 463 metres at Gomes, with the best intercept a narrow high-grade core inside a short interval. Historical intercepts cited along the northern trend have not been independently verified by the company. The pending 10 holes at Black Diamond and Crown North will show whether Gomes is a pattern or an outlier.
