NV Gold Expands the Awakening Zone at Slumber: 30.5 Metres at 2.37 g/t Gold in Nevada

The Slumber story keeps moving northeast. NV Gold's October 20 update on its 2026 reverse-circulation program at the 100%-owned Slumber Gold Project, about 70 kilometres west-northwest of Winnemucca in Humboldt County, reports assays from 10 of the 17 holes completed so far — and the newest holes sit roughly 1.4 kilometres northeast of the gold zones the company drilled between 2019 and 2025.

At a glance
  • Hole SL-47A returned 30.5 metres at 2.37 g/t gold, including 1.5 metres at 8.62 g/t gold.
  • Hole SL-47 returned 54.9 metres at 0.89 g/t gold, and hole SL-46 returned 38 metres at 0.78 g/t gold.
  • The holes test the eastern DeLong Ridge and Awakening Zones, about 1.4 kilometres northeast of the previously reported Slumber gold zones.
  • Assays have been received for 10 of 17 RC holes completed to date. Drilling is continuing, with at least 15 additional holes planned for this program.
  • The Awakening Zone straddles the boundary between NV Gold's existing north-area claims and a portion of the recently leased DeLong Ranch lands. Drilling continues south and southeast of DeLong Ridge.

What is being tested at Slumber

Slumber is a near-surface oxide gold target in the same northern Nevada country that hosts the past-producing Sleeper deposit to the east. The 2026 program is the first to drill the Awakening area systematically: the company's September 23 release first identified the zone, reporting 41 metres at 0.844 g/t gold in hole SL-42. The October 20 batch extends that picture eastward onto DeLong Ridge, with the two zones now being drilled as one connected target area across the claim and leased-land boundary.

The shape of the results matters more than any single intercept. SL-46 and SL-47 returned long, lower-grade runs — the broad widths an oxide system needs — while SL-47A carries the higher-grade core, 2.37 g/t over 30.5 metres with a 1.5-metre interval at 8.62 g/t. Whether that grade holds together between sections is what the next 15-plus holes, stepping south and southeast of DeLong Ridge, are designed to answer.

The honesty box

These are reverse-circulation drill intercepts reported as downhole lengths in the company's release; the release excerpt carried no true-width statement, composite cut-off, or hole depths, and readers should treat the intervals as drilled lengths only. Seven of the 17 completed holes are still awaiting assays, so this batch is partial by the company's own count. NV Gold reports no mineral resource estimate for Slumber in this release — drill intercepts, however encouraging, are not a resource, and continuity between holes has not yet been demonstrated by a compliant estimate.

What to watch

The remaining seven assay sets from the current 17 holes, then the 15-plus follow-up holes south and southeast of DeLong Ridge — the step-outs that will show whether Awakening and the older Slumber zones join up into one system across the leased ground.
