It is a short release, and the number is the story. Fortitude Gold, one of the smaller US-listed gold producers, reported preliminary third-quarter production of 2,139 ounces on October 19, all of it from its Nevada mining unit.
- Preliminary Q3 2026 gold production: 2,139 ounces.
- The ounces came from mining at Pearl Deep, Scarlet South and County Line, plus residual leach recovery.
- Fortitude says it targets a continued ramp-up in production in future quarters.
- Full financial results arrive with the company's Form 10-Q filing with the SEC.
The Nevada unit behind the number
Fortitude's Nevada Mining Unit holds nine gold properties, all 100%-owned except East Camp Douglas, held in a joint venture in which Fortitude owns 60%. The producing pieces named in the release sit in Mineral and Nye Counties: the Isabella Pearl project (the Isabella Pearl and Scarlet South mines) and the County Line project (the County Line and East Pit mines). The company's stated model is low-cost, debt-free production with dividends — a small-producer profile in a state dominated by much larger operators.
The honesty box
The 2,139-ounce figure is preliminary and unaudited, and the release offers no cost, grade or sales figures to set it against — those wait for the 10-Q. The release also gives no prior-quarter comparison, so the size of the "ramp up" it targets cannot be judged from this announcement alone.
What to watch
The Form 10-Q for the quarter's costs and cash position, and whether Q4 production shows the ramp the company is pointing to.
